Power Flushing
Power Flushing explained
Do you have central heating circulation problems? Blockages or leaks? Is your central heating system inefficient? Do you have high fuel bills? We can help!
Modern central heating systems with high efficiency boilers are clean, efficient and economical, BUT only if operating at peak performance.
The majority of systems, mostly with older, standard efficiency boilers, can suffer from excessive gas formation, and also sludge formation too.
If a central heating system has excessive gas formation, this can cause air locks which prevent circulation either in radiators or in whole circuits. If a system has to be continually bled, this is more than likely a tell-tale sign of gas formation, rather than it being just air.
Sludge formation is the conversion of the reaction of the iron oxide (magnetite), and this black sludge settles in the low points of systems and can clog pumps and block pipework. When this contaminates the boiler heat exchanger and pipework, dramatic efficiency losses result.
Our “power-flush” machine, together with its magnetic filter, will remove an average of 3kg of sludge and other deposits from an old central heating system, whilst minimising dismantling of the system to carry this out.
Power-flushing the system is the safe, clean and easy way to loosen corrosion deposits and sludge, which is then removed from the system with no mess and no fuss, leaving pipework and radiators clear and free from contamination. Power-flushing restores your existing boiler and central heating system back to its efficient, quiet operation, consequently improving its reliability.
Once the system has been cleaned, we will re-fill the heating circuit with a corrosion inhibitor. This is a chemical which slows down the rate of corrosion, to help to protect your system in the future.
Additional system protection can be achieved by installing a permanent magnetic filter designed to tackle black iron oxide. This will help to extend the life of the system and its controls, with no ongoing running costs. Please ask our staff for more details.
